Natasha Tonkin is a London based filmmaker. After completing her studies in Character Animation at Central Saint Martins in 2011, Natasha worked independently as a director, creating a series of animated films for the European-wide CycleCities initiative, as well as short promotional films for a range of companies, from whiskey distilleries to fabric designers.
In 2017 she was awarded an MA in Directing Animation (with Distinction) from the National Film and Television School. Her graduation film Tête à Tête premiered in competition at Annecy in 2017 and has since screened at over 70 festivals worldwide. It was awarded best emerging talent at Stop Motion Montreal, the jury prize at Bucheon International Animation Festival, Best International Student Stop Motion at Florida Animation Festival, Best Student and Short at RGU Film Festival and Third Prize overall International Shorts at Athens Animfest and Chilemonos.
